The Garden Route
We start in Pretoria, South Africa and ride towards the Mountainous Kingdom of Lesotho. This is where the adventure begins – here you will ride more turns within 80 km than any other road in Africa. Next, we head back up into South Africa and ride through Golden Gate National Park and the mighty Drakensberg Mountains. We reach the Indian Ocean at East London and enjoy a world-class safari at Addo Elephant National Park. Expect to spot Lions, Elephants, Rhinos, Leopards and Buffalos. We are now on the famous Garden Route and you will spend the next several days riding through different landscapes from beautiful mountain passes, through meandering forests and onto desert roads. We spend a night at the mighty Storms River Mouth, ride to the Knsyna Heads, and visit Ostriches in Oudtshoorn. Last but not the least, we ride to the Southern Most Point of Africa at Cape Agulhas and spend a night on a wine farm in the Cape Winelands to taste some delicious South African wines before riding 0ver 200km of amazing coastal roads all the way into Cape Town the following day. What a RIDE!
An experienced local guide on a motorcycle will lead this tour from the front and a backup vehicle that carries tools, snacks, spare motorcycle and great on ride service will follow us. It can also accommodate up to two passengers and will always trail the convoy to ensure safety and support on road.

The Roaring Ride 2019 was planned flawlessly. I was humbled to power the inaugural The Roaring Ride in February 2019 organized by The Holiday Shoppe. A superb initiative to spread awareness on Lion conservation efforts by the Kevin Richardson Foundation and the message to ban canned hunting and cub petting industry prevalent in South Africa. A well-executed, flawlessly planned, superbly maintained BMW GS horses, top quality accommodation and gourmet food experiences, ensured we get an extra-ordinary African wilderness on a motorcycle. The route was one of the best I have done till date and riding in Africa for the first time, The Holiday Shoppe took care of all the possibilities in an unknown region. Kaizad had put together a route that was very scenic and adventurous and the daily riding distances were just appropriate to let us enjoy the beauty of the place.
